Dr. Edward Lamp, 68, of Woodville, Ohio, died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at his home following an extended illness. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 21, 1942, the son of W.B. & Hazel (Born) Lamp. Ed was a graduate of the Breck School, St. Paul, MN; received several associate degrees from Terra Community College, Fremont, OH; graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, MN; earned his Masters of Education degree from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, and was awarded his PhD. in Health and Physical Education from the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio. He was a chemist for Ludlow Industries (formerly Crown Rubber) and Union Carbide, both of Fremont, and taught sciences at Fremont Junior High School. For nearly 30 years, Ed taught Economics and Psychology at Terra Community College, and was an adjunct professor at the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University. An avid traveler, he visited all 7 continents. He also enjoyed sailing, piloting his plane, woodworking, and had a lifelong interest in research and education. Ed also enjoyed architecture, having designed his unique home himself. He was quite interested in art and designed and fabricated the stained glass windows at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elmore, of which he was an active member. Ed was also a professional photographer and operated Aladdin Photo for several years. He was a member of the Sandusky County Retired Teacher's Association. Ed was especially proud of his children and greatly enjoyed his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Neta (Frykman) Lamp; his former wife, Parmelia Boyer; daughters, Dr. Jane (Robert) Kaminski, Wellington, FL, and Abby (Greg) Heckman, Northwood, Ohio; sister, Hazel "Snook" (Thomas) Magnuson, Lyndon, KS; stepdaughter, Lorena (Robert) Caulfield, Newbury Park, CA; stepson, Jeremiah (Telma) Reese, Glendora, CA; and his grandchildren, Hunter, Emma, and Lily Kaminski and Keaton, Carter, Cooper, and Tessa Heckman. Also surviving are 5 stepgrandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore-Genoa Chapel. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elmore, with the Rev. David Nevergall officiating. There will be a luncheon at the church following the service.
