Douglas B. Millinger, 76, of Port Clinton, died Saturday September 6, 2008 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. He was born July 24, 1932 in Port Clinton, the son of Myron "Mike" and Nora (Dannenberger) Millinger. Doug was a carpenter all of his life. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Air Force. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a life member of the VFW Post 2480 of Port Clinton. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge. Surviving is his wife Shirley (Colston) Millinger whom he married on December 13, 1952; sons Terry (Patti) of Decula, GA, Douglas (Linda) and Barry of Port Clinton; daughter Cherrie (Tom) Stiefel of Greenville, SC; Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a sister Norma Jean (Mush) Easton of Port Clinton. His parents, brother Carlton "Butch" Millinger and sisters Betty Gulau and Dorothy Druyor preceded him in death. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Tuesday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton where funeral services will be at 11 am Wednesday. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery with military rites conducted by the VFW. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home, Stein Hospice or St. John Lutheran Church.
