Donald L. Bierschwal

Donald “Don” L. Bierschwal, 82 of Millbury, Ohio died Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at SKLD Nursing Facility in Perrysburg, Ohio under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born November 25, 1937 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late Les and Letha Rose (Randal) Bierschwal. On November 25, 1981 he married the former Beverly Leady and she survives. Don worked as a meat cutter in Cleveland, Ohio for 24 years before relocating to the Toledo area to work in a family member’s restaurant. It was in that restaurant, affectionately known as “The Chicken Coop”, that Don met Beverly and they began their life together. Don went on to work at Jerl Machine in Perrysburg, Ohio where he did maintenance and custodial work beginning in 1996 until his retirement in 2009. In his early years Don enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he also had a passion for riding motorcycles that lasted throughout his life. While at home, Don enjoyed being outdoors and taking in the sunshine on his front porch. Don is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Beverly, 7 children comprised of 5 daughters – Debra, Barbara, Susan, Leslie and Kelly, and 2 sons – Donald Jr. and Michael, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as caring friends, neighbors, and members of Beverly’s extended family. Graveside services will begin at 11am on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Salem Twp. Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, Ohio under the direction of the Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Beverly would like to thank the kind and supportive nurses and staff at SKLD Perrysburg and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate care of Don during his illness and in his final days.
