Diane Bixler

Diane Bixler, 68, of Catawba Island and formerly of San Juan Capistrano, CA died Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, OH. She was born August 11, 1946 in Elyria, OH the daughter of Clifford and Elaine (Crehore) Huston. She married Edward Bixler on Sept. 11, 1965 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 2012. Diane was a member of ST. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton where she was active on the Altar Guild. She was also a member of Port Clinton Yacht Club and when she lived in California she and her husband were active in organizing city events and enjoyed going to Motorcycle Rallies. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and she donated handmade caps to children with cancer. She loved her family more than anything and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter: Erica (Robert) Turner of Seattle, WA, son: Edward (Angela) Bixler of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Cassandra Turner, Kaylee Turner, Courtney Turner, Robert Turner, Jr.; sister: Linda Allsion of Black Mountain, NC; brother: Jack Huston of Catawba Island. Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, August 6, 2015 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton with Rev. Mary L. Staley.
