Dennis "Denny" L. Thompson

Dennis L. Thompson, 69 of Fremont, OH, and formerly of Oak Harbor, OH, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH following a lengthy illness. Dennis, known to friends and family as Denny, was born November 16, 1946 in Port Clinton, OH to Kenneth J. and Joan E. (Yeisley) Thompson. On March 31, 1978 he married the former Nancy Garner who preceded him in death May 31, 2015. Denny retired from the Ottawa County Engineers (Highway) Office as a Supervisor/Foreman following over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Fremont, OH. Denny enjoyed golfing, yard work, and could often be found interacting with neighbors and helping others. He was an avid Ohio State fan and truly enjoyed spending time with his mother and his family. Survivors include his mother Joan E. Thompson of Fremont, OH; children: Jay A. Thompson of Clyde, OH and Jennifer A. (Eric) Henderson of Springfield, VA; step- children: Rhonda K. Snodgrass of Fremont, OH and Rodney V. (Robin) Fowler of Oak Harbor, OH; grandchildren: Alayna Henderson, Eric Henderson and Addison Thompson; step- grandchildren: Alysia Abdoo, Andra Snodgrass, Alec Snodgrass, Sarah Wolf, Jolene Pfaff, Rory Fowler, Daniel Fowler, and Shelia Orozco; brothers: Steven M. (Peggy) Thompson of Oak Harbor, OH and Tommy N. (Kathrynn) Thompson of Dundee, MI; and sister Debra K. (Jack) Brady of Taylors, SC. He was also preceded in death by his father, and step- son Rory Fowler. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8pm with the family present 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Oak Harbor Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. David A. Voll officiating. Burial will be in Rushau Cemetery, Carroll Township.
