David J.T. Kihlken, 82, of Marblehead, OH died January 1, 2011 at Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH.. He was born January 3, 1928 in Danbury, Twp. the son of the late Grover J.T. and Alta Helena Catherine (Gulau) Kihlken. He married Virginia Mae Resh on June 10, 1951 and she survives. He was a 1946 graduate of Lakeside High School, he received a degree in Business Administration from BGSU where he was a Theta Chi and a charter member of Alpha Phi Omega. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury where he sang and previously directed in the church choir. He retired as the Sales Manager for Monroe Calculator Co. after 30+ years with the company. He then returned to Danbury Twp and took over the family fruit farm, East Harbor Fruit Farm. He enjoyed winemaking and following Danbury Athletics. He previously was active in Community Theatre in Port Clinton and Terra Haute, IN. He flew his own plane, was a charter boat captain for Tibbels Marina and he was the first eagle scout in Danbury. He previously sang with the Terra Haute Banks of Wabash Chorus and he was a member of the Terra Haute Breakfast Optimist. His ancestors were early pioneers of Ottawa County and he is a member of First Family of Ottawa County. Surviving are his wife: Virginia; sons: Tom (Emily) Kihlken, David Kihlken, Richard (Patrice) Kihlken, Robert (Sheryl) Kihlken; daughter Cheryl (Jim) Davis; grandchildren: John (Laura) and Richie Kihlken, Brian and Michael Davis, Douglas Kihlken, Heather (Eric) Perez, Courtney, Matthew and Willie Lower; and sister Helen Braithwaite. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Anna Jean Beier. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury where the family will receive friends from 10:00 until the time of the service. Rev. Chris Young will be officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3:00 � 7:00 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside�Marblehead, OH. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Donor's Choice.
