Dale K. Wahlers

Dale K. Wahlers, 67, of Oak Harbor, OH, died Monday, October 15, 2007 due to an automobile accident near Oak Harbor. He was born July 20, 1940, on Catawba Island, a son of Eugene “Bootie” & Cletora (King) Wahlers. Dale was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post #114, Oak Harbor. He was an employee of USCO, Port Clinton, retiring in August of 2002. A member of St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge, Dale was also an avid bowler, loved fishing, and enjoyed going on rides with his wife in his yellow MG. Dale loved his family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. On May 2, 1970, he married the former Vicky Myers, and she survives. Also surviving is his son, Eugene Wahlers, Millbury, OH; daughter, Heather (Andy) Johnson, Genoa, OH; brother, Glenn Wahlers, Castalia, OH; sister-in-law, Vanda Wahlers, Catawba Island; 6 grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Keith Wahlers; sister-in-law, Betty Wahlers, and nephew, Corey Wahlers. Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Monday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where the family will be present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Kimpel officiating. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or Mid-County E.M.S., Oak Harbor.
