Christopher J. Garceau, 54, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born on December 30, 1959 in Marion, Ohio to the late Richard J. and Mary Carol (Keenan) Garceau. He graduated from Port Clinton High School and then went on to Terra Community College where he obtained his licensure and pursued continuing education. Chris was owner and CEO of South Shore Mobile Home Service in Port Clinton. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; member of the NHRA-National Hot Rod Association; member of Alcoholics Anonymous; and a member of TEAM Life. He had a passion for racing. He was a well-loved and highly respected fixture at the Norwalk Raceway for the past 25 years. He won many races and was most proud of his win at the Fun Ford Weekend where he clinched the King Ford title. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, waterskiing, spending time with his canine companion, Windsor, and most importantly, being with the love of his life, his fiance', Lori Wade. Survivors include his sisters: Mary Anne (Doran) McMahon, Austin, Texas; Mary Francis (Tom) Rodan, Norfolk, Virginia; brother: Richard (Jodi) Garceau, Chagrin Falls, Ohio; fiance', Lori Wade and her daughters: Mandi Scott Franks and Kristen Scott; nieces and nephews: Caroline, Kaylee, and Cade Coffee; Keenan and Claire Garceau; Stephanie and Brian Rodan; great niece: Alaina Rodan; and his faithful black Labrador, Windsor. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton. On Tuesday, October 28, 2014 a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John Missler at 10am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
