Christian Raff, Jr.

Christian Raff, Jr., 79, of Catawba Island, Ohio, and formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on November 1, 1936 in Vojilovia, Yugoslavia, the son of the late Christian and Theresa (Holzworth) Raff, Sr. On March 22, 1958 he married Judy Ann Weidle and she preceded him in death on December 29, 2012. Christian was a Tool and Die Maker at General Motors-Delphi in Sandusky for 36 years until his retirement in 2006. He and his wife Judy were the owners and operators of the Compass Rose Inn Motel on Catawba Island until its closure in 2012. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Catawba Island as well as a member of the Mansfield Liederkranz Club. He was an avid bowler and soccer player, loved to fish, read, and spend time with his family and friends. Survivors include his daughters, Pam (Bryan) Clay, Chicago, Illinios, Debbie (Rick) Boyce, Shiloh, Ohio, Cynthia Gresbach, Ocala, Florida; son, Christian F. (Aura Keaton) Raff, Catawba Island; grandchildren, Stephanie, Michelle, Christian A, Nicholas and Phillip; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Theresa Raff, Mansfield, Ohio; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hogy and Shirley Moses, Mansfield, Ohio; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother, Gerhart "Gary" Raff. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 7755 E. Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Peninsula Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery.
