Carolyn M. Sampson, 91, of Elmore, OH, died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Elmwood of Fremont, Fremont, OH. She was born on July 10, 1925 in Woodville Township, the daughter of the late Henry & Mollie (Smith) Walter. On March 25, 1950, she married Donald Sampson, and he preceded her in death on December 26, 1999. Carolyn & Don spent many winters in Texas, and enjoyed camping with their friends. She was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Elmore, where she was a longtime member of the church choir and was a former Sunday School teacher. Carolyn was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Airstream Camping Club, and the Sun Oil camping group. She loved playing games and cards. Surviving is her son, Timothy (Jana) Sampson, Tom Ball, TX; daughter, Becky J. (Ronald) Busdeker, Elmore, OH; son-in-law, Don (Becky Heiser) Snyder, Fostoria, OH; grandchildren, Shane (Cyndea) Sampson, Sarah Sampson, Brett (Marnie) Busdeker, Brandi (Tyler) Cunningham, Brittany (Brad) Berelsman, and Scott Snyder; great-grandchildren, Gage, Case, Gray, & Finn Sampson, T.J. Cunningham, and Leah Joy Busdeker. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Snyder and brothers, Merle & David Walter. The family will receive friends from 2-8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Elmore-Genoa Chapel, 19550 West S.R. 51, Elmore, OH. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 448 E. Rice St., Elmore, with interment following at Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at the church. Those planning a memorial contribution may wish to consider St. John's United Church of Christ, or Stein Hospice.
