Carol Summey

Carol Summey, 74, of Otterbein North Shore, Lakeside, OH died August 28, 2008 at University Hospital in Cleveland, OH. She was born to Willard and Mildred (Dicken) Walter in Bettsville, OH and married Louis J. Summey September 25, 1954 in Fremont, OH. Louis died May 3, 1992 Carol worked as a receptionist for Dr. Philip Newman, was an office worker at Bingham Herbrand, Fremont and also at Puritan Sportswear, Altoona, PA. She became a resident of Waterville, OH where they lived for 25 years. Seven of those she worked as mail carrier for the US Postal Service. She also served as cashier at the National School of Meat Cutting and Kurtz Market, Toledo. While in Waterville she was leader of a women's church circle which served weekly meals to the Rotary Club. She also was an active bowler. In 1988 they moved to Lakeside, OH. When Louis died she made her permanent residence in Zephyrhills, FL where she lived until her death. She was an active member of the Lakeside United Methodist Church where memorial services will be held September 20th, 2 pm. Carol is survived by her partner, Donald Yaussy, Otterbein North Shore, daughter Crista Wisely, Cape Coral, Fl and son Kirk (Julie) Summey, Toledo; five grandchildren, Jessica and Abbey Baker, Jacob Wiseley, Michael Summey, Daniel, (Leather) Summey and two great grandchildren, Kimberley and Justin Summey; brothers Lee Walter, Mulberry, FL, John Walter, Rising Sun, OH, Tom Walter, Fostoria, OH and Allen (Susan) Walter, Eureka Springs, AR Carol donated her body for medical research to Medical University of Ohio in Toledo. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, the Lakeside United Methodist Church, the Lakeside Association or the Salvation Army.
