Bessie Drucilla Williams April 17, 1925-May 12, 2010 Bessie D. Williams, 85, of Clyde (Townsend Twp) and formerly of Lakeside, Ohio, quietly passed away with her husband by her side Wednesday morning May 12, 2010 at the Bellevue Hospital. She was born April 17, 1925, in McMinnville, Tennessee, the daughter of the Reverend William J. and Emma J. (Aughinbough) McElroy. After moving to Ohio in 1957 from the Detroit area, Bessie worked for the Northern Ohio Telephone Company before accepting a position at the Lakeside Post Office. Her career with the Postal Department spanned over 30 years and was the Postmaster in Gypsum when she retired in 1987. She was a member of the Bellevue Church of Christ. Bessie's sincere love revolved around her grandchildren and they honored her by sharing their experiences with her during their many visits or hour-long phone calls. She always looked forward to having her whole family gather together over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Surviving are her husband, Burch whom she married February 11, 1955; her daughter: Patricia Ann (William C.) Hall, of Catawba Island; a son: John Howard of Clyde; a brother: H.C. McElroy of Memphis, TN; daughter-in-law Pam Peters (Ray) Williams of Danbury Twp; her grandchildren: Helen (Greg) Odum of Perrysburg, James C. Williams of Sandusky, Tara Renee' (Chris) Smith of Coopersburg, PA, and V. Hydie Hall of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchildren: Nevan, Kaitlyn, Tiernan and Rhiannon; and her very special friend JoAnn Gahimer of Bellevue; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, C. Ray of Lakeside; three sisters and 2 brothers all from Tennessee. Visitation: Monday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd, Marblehead. Services: 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home. The Pastor Keith Huntley will officiate. Interment: Burial will follow in Sackett Cemetery. Memorials: Contributions can be made to "Back to the Wild", 4504 Bardshar Road, Castalia, OH 44824, or charity of donor's choice.
