Andrew W. Grover

Andrew W. Grover, 89, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on June 6, 1928 in Port Clinton, Ohio, a son of Willard and Mabel (Rofkar) Grover. On February 23, 1952 he married Helen Benko and she preceded him in death on July 6, 2012. Andrew graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1946 and then joined the military. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving our country during World War II. He was the owner and operator of Grover Upholstering in Port Clinton until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Clinton, member of the Port Clinton Elks Lodge #1718, and the Port Clinton American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, and most importantly, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter, Kim (Bob) Fravel, Catawba Island: and grandchildren, Ashlee Fravel and Robert Fravel. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his Aunt, Justina Lafer who raised him after his mother died when he was 3, and by his brother, Marvin Grover. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 4-8 pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. On Friday, January 5, 2018 additional visitation will be held at St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams Street, Port Clinton, Ohio from 10 am until Funeral Services at 11 am with Reverend Dr. James Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton with military honors being conducted by members of the American Legion . Following the committal service, all are invited back to St. John Parish Hall for a bereavement luncheon.
