Coleman D. Turinsky, 88, of Marblehead died Monday, March 2, 2015 at his residence. He was born July 10, 1926 in Marblehead, the son of Andrew M. and Margaret (Harnad) Turinsky, Sr. He married Anna Richick on November 8, 1947 and she preceded him in death on July 4, 2004. Coleman was a commercial fisherman on Lake Erie since he was a boy. He built Turinsky's Marina and later helped his son, Jerry, build Turinsky's Westside Marina. He worked at Standard Slag Quarry in Marblehead. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead. He was a United States Navy veteran serving on Wake Island during World War II. He was a member of Stanley J. Jadwisiak Post 7572 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Marblehead. He was a hard working man who enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving are his sons, Stephen (Mimi) Turinsky of Marblehead, Michael (Brenda) Turinsky of Marblehead; daughters, Carol (Newberry) Mitchell of Marblehead, Pauline (Michael) O'Toole of Ormond Beach, FL, Mary (Terry) Slauterbeck of Marblehead; daughter-in-law, Renee Turinsky of Marblehead; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sister: Barbara Merrill of Marblehead and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; son, Jerome "Jerry" Turinsky; one grandchild; brothers: Andrew and Francis Turinsky; sisters, Zita Rhea, Alberta Turinsky and Mary Sauvey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dan Borgelt at 10:30 am Friday, March 6, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 Barclay St., Marblehead, OH. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, 7755 E. Harbor Rd. Lakeside-Marblehead, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Church Cemetery with V. F. W. Post 7572 presenting military honors.
